During the experiment Advil and Motrin is being tested. Two clear six ounce plastic cups are used to hold the Advil tablet and Motrin tablet separately. Distilled white vinegar is poured into the cups at 3 ounces in each cup. The stopwatch is started and the camera is taking pictures of any chemical changes. When the data is concluded from that experiment the liqui-gels are now being dissolved in the vinegar. However, the gels seem insoluble and is just shrinking instead of opening up. Thus, providing an physical change to the Advil and Motrin.

Humans have been falling ill to diseases, colds, and other medical issues that aren’t always easy to troubleshoot. Many people were forced to suffer and die because people were unable to live in the modern era. The problem was and still is, that everything in life is about money now. People of higher thinking have turned medication to a business that makes most of its money off of past on rumors and “fake” techniques. That being said, to save someone of their money drug solubility will be tested to determine which drug acts quick and which drug lasts longer. The being tested consists of: Ibuprofen, and Mucinex. Advil will be mentioned later on, but since it is similar Ibuprofen, it will have an honorable mention.
Ibuprofen is a common drug taken by those who are ill and want to feel better faster. Ibuprofen is a anti-inflammatory drug that is often used to relinquish pain and relief from body sores. While activated, it reduces swelling and congestion in the joints. Ibuprofen is available as an over-the-counter drug, as well as prescriptions. Often prescribed to those who have arthritis or others who suffer from swelling. Ibuprofen works by inhibiting COX-1 and COX-2, which produce prostaglandins in the human body. Prostaglandins are found in almost all of the human tissue. Prostaglandin sometimes causes the tissues to become inflamed which then causes blood vessels to relax and widen the blood cells to form a clot.
Advil is a medicament used frequently to treat fever, swelling, pain, and redness. Advil works by preventing the body from making the substance that causes the problem. Which gets the same job done as Ibuprofen as mentioned earlier. Individuals with heart problems, stroke, or peptic ulcers should ask a doctor before taking Advil. It should not be used after the 6 month mark in a woman pregnancy. Lawfully considered a non-addictive alternative for painkillers. The time of relief depends on which form of Advil purchased. For example, fast-acting Advil coated tablets, Advil liqui-Gels, and Advil liqui-Gels minis are designed to act fast. The products are designed for fast absorption and fast relief. Important to take dosages four to six hours apart from each other. Motrin is an perfect example of a medical company making money off of the people. The commercials promote that Motrin acts faster than any other drug and that it lasts longer.
In order to see how fast drugs are able to dissolve into the human body, we have to test the solubility of drugs in vinegar, because it is the closest acidity level to that of the stomach of human beings. Since the stomach acid varies from Ph1.5 to Ph3.5 and the vinegar is Ph2.5. Solubility is the property of gas, liquid, or solid in a chemical substance. The solubility of an substance typically depends on the pressure and temperature. The term solvent, is the yielded property of the solute of which was just produced. Which will help scientists determine how drugs react and how long. If needed to take one dosage, or two doses depending on how heavily weighted the drug is.
Since the dawn of time maintaining human health has been a consistent factor in which is still followed today. Although in the past, people were unfortunate and did not have the technology and resources to maintain even higher health, the human health has still remained number one in priorities. Whenever sickness strikes in today’s era, the doctor is readily available to diagnose and make individuals feel better. In the bible, it is written that God’s word is our medicine, but that is talking spiritually. All get sick at one point in time, and all are prone to get through the suffering. The book of Proverbs says, “A merry heart doeth like a good medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” Which summarized means, living happily will in time reward your body thus making you healthy. Versus being sad and depressed all of the time, which will tear at your heart until you die. This scripture compares to my science project topic, “Which drug pill dissolves faster,” because they are both expressing healing factors. There is nothing wrong with taking a little medicine here and there when needed. Just as long as something is helping God’s creation earthly bodies continue to grow while waiting on the most high to rapture us.
The materials used to conduct this experiment consists of: two small six ounce cups, distilled white vinegar, Advil liqui-gels and Advil tablets, Motrin liqui-gels and Motrin tablets, camera, and a stopwatch. The method involving the dissolving of the pills was to pouring the vinegar into the cup first, then adding the pills into the vinegar thus initiating the reaction and starting the stopwatch from there. The Advil and Motrin tablets finished in a relative time of 15 to 25 minutes. Advil finishing with a average of 15:36, and Motrin with 22:16. Although, when conducting the experiment for the liqui-gels, it was discovered that the gel capsules would not dissolve, but instead stretch out in size. So the trials were not able to finish. Proving that the Advil indeed beat the Motrin in the matter of being able to have a medicine that truly works faster than others. Also proving Motrin wrong for not being the fastest drug to react with humans.
